Description

This picture was inspired by a good friend and co-worker of mine. Very recently he was overjoyed to find out that he would be the proud father of a set of twin girls, Kyndahl and Madison. Unfortunately, Madison was lost late during the mother's pregnancy. Broken up over the loss, my friend continued to hope and pray that Kyndahl would come out alright. When she was finally born, three months premature, it was a long hard struggle for him, his family, and the doctors in order to save poor Kyndahl and nurse her to health. During the ordeal for him, several of us that work with him daily lived vicariously through his stories, both uplifting and sad, as Kyndahl struggled for survival. As her bodily functions began to fail in the last few weeks, each of us prayed that she would live through. As it became apparent that she was destined for another place, our prayers shifted to him and the mother in the hopes that they would find strength in the fact that their twin baby girls must living in a more pleasent world than this. Little consolation, but at times like these, it's all many have. Feeling helpless, I decided to try to use my newfound 'hobby' to do the little girls some form of justice, and hopefully to create an image that would inspire peace and tranquility upon those who have none. It turned out much different than I expected, but they always do... don't they? I can only hope that he and his girl are pleased with it, and that they take away from it some comfort in the rememberance of lives that were never given a chance. Background done in Terragen, overall render in Bryce 5.5. Some pre and postwork done in Photoshop. Many thanks goes out to brycelover for the excellent tree, and to amethyss for his beautiful grass texture.

You have captured mood and memory in an image of exceptional quality. A fitting tribute. please pass on to your friend the words of Abraham Lincoln "I pray that our heavenly father will assuage the anguish of your bereavement, leaving only the cherished memory of the loved and lost".

Of all the possible uses that Bryce has - this has to be one of the best and clearly one of the most important. This simple image has probably more to say than 98% of all the images in Rosity's galleries. Most art is expression - this art is revelation...
