Description
Created in Bryce 5.0 with 3750 Metaballs Whew!!!!
The goal was to create new unique and original effects through the blending of metaballs.
In this example, thousands of individually textured metalballs were strategically assembled together to form a single shape, form and/or picture.
Each metaball constitutes a single, individually textured pixel in a very large array grid.
The sky, sun, and desert cliff comprise an array grid ascending from the bottom of the desert cliff scene upward in a vertical direction.
The water and lower desert sand scene array grid extends outward horizontally, and with a slight degree of downward angle.
The Cactus, Coyote, Paco (the sleeping Spaniard) . . ., are completely comprised of meatballs that extend vertically from the horizontal grid in an upward direction.
The end result is a 2D metaball painting, with unique and unusual 3D effects.
Note the unique effect (relationship) that the sunset and water have in this scene.
Comments and ratings are welcome . . . and thanks for viewing!!!
Regards,
Shane Atkins

Amazing work! And a novel experiment. If I hadn't read your description, I would have been sorely tempted to just hurry on. Congratulations on your perserverance. I really like the starfish-looking sun.
