A fantastic image Deane and thank you for this wonderful explanation of the therm Geisha!!!!!I didn't know that with the male Geisha's so it was very informative for me!!!!! She has a wonderful face and I agree with axeye she looks a little bit frightened!!!!! Marvelous work!!!

well, that is one part of the history i didn't know about geishas. i always thought they were all females! very much reminiscent to actors and the ballet back in the good old days where it was all males and the part of the female was played by males. great history lesson here hon, i learned something new. the image is beautiful too deane. i can just imagine the young ones while they are learning the art and how it must have been scary for them. you captured it very well and that back light added so much impact on the overall image. love that kimono!!! hugs, Rain
