Description

Sulphur deposits on an older volcanic planet giving way to some of the rains. Neighbouring planet rising on the horizon with each showing one of it moons. Planet pics from www.space.com PW: PSP X Sharpening of the landscape and a softfocus on the atmo to get rid of some of the colorbanding, think it took a little away from the atmo and have to find a better way to do it. Any suggestions??? Thanks for looking and any comments, also for comments left at previous posts. Jim

Glad you posted this one. I love the sense of scale here. As I have said, I have never managed to find a good way to get rid of that banding either wihout spoiling the 'feel' of a picture. Excellent work! :)

Very cool...the lighting and crispness are awesome as is the postwork....excellent work!! I get atmo banding when I use heavy contrast and sharpening...most often I use a tool to select only the terrain for post processing.

hey - nice one for the critique on my image so i will have to leave a couple of comments here a thanks - the planets look excellent - perfect transparency and colour - overall the feel is very calm and i like the colour scheme you've used! minor critique is that in my opinion i'd love to see a more realistic surface like your last one hehehe

Wow this is really good Jim. I've heard you BC folks are a little spacey and from this POV that is hard to deny. Fantastic color combination, lighting and atmo. Keep up the fantastic work!

I love this one Jim. My goodness a perfectly done atmosphere for this. If you want to lose the 'banding' the suggestion I would give you is in PSP (I use version 9) use your smudging brush and blend the clouds before you do the planets, then do layers for the planets. Your transparency on them is perfect and the colors are superb... Excellent work.
