Description

I went to a Civil War re-enactment last week. It was amazing. However, I saw most of it through a half inch square view finder of my camera. I took about 450 pics that day. So for the next 450 days you will see a civil war battle....lol...just kidding ,.. i'll only do it for the next 100 days =). This is a Confederate soldier who was nice enough to pose for me before that captured me as a Union spy. He was a really interesting character. I did age the pic with some sepia tones. Y'all have a yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaawwwww weekend (rebel cheer)

Nicely done Ray - considering relatively how little went on down there this looks like quite a highlevel of reenactment. They also did hand tinting and toning back then....

Very good presentation. That ol boy must have been a wealthy man. Dressed mighty well for a soldier.

Excellent portrait here, Ray (I know what I'm talking about : it's no easy to capture nice pictures in such events with lots of people around...) I really like the tone you applied to this image ! :~)

Excellent! Looks like slipping back in time. We have something similar in my area. The Shiloh battlefield is an hour or so away, and they do reenactments every year. I have yet to see it though. This inspires me to make it next year.

Great shot Ray !!!! Very cool with the sepia tone. I think I remember him from last year. lol. Those re-enactors are definitely characters. I thought they were so much fun !!!. Cannot wait to see more of what you got. It is always interesting to see what another photographer sees at the same event or place. This is a really great one. Looks like a huge step back in time...the real thing. Excellent !!!!!

Excellent portrait photography Ray! I love the sepia treatment, it works perfectly for this type of image. I gotta say, this guy looks like he stepped right out of the early 1860's for this photo! Most excellent indeed! Have an awesome day my friend!

Somehow you captured much of the spirit of tenacity of these people and I'd love to experience one of these occasions in person. Nice work!
