Description

Bright weather is nice but increasing contrasts that can cause dark parts to become entirely black. Although the original slide shows still some details the ceilings of the gateways are entirely black here after scanning (CanoScan 9900F). I ask myself about the color-depth of modern digital camera's compared with film (slide and negative), maybe you know something more about this. You can see here the massive Nikolaitor (Nikolai Gate) built in 1170, still intact and used as gateway. I have corrected this image to get rid of the wide angle-effect by using the perspective transformation in Photoshop. Vertical lines are vertical again now. Love the shot but on the issue of colour. I don't think your pic contains enough, think it's either the film or the settings, but I think digital does a fantastic colour job... All cams have diff setting for colour spec but you'll find the one you like...

Magnificent capture of these historical buildings. I hate to think of the amount of work it was to build these stone structures. What would it cost today to build something like this?
