Description
It's my first 3D model ever!!!!!
It's meant to be the turret of the Italian Ariete C1 MBT...
Well, I thought I could upload a preview of the present stage to get some opinions/tips, so I put on some paint, lights, and other trivia, and here it is... so what d'You think? (Be indulget, after all my modeling experience sums up to a few days!)
I'm using "blueprints" in the top/front/right view. The main hull is done building from point to point. The hole where the gun inserts is obtained by subtracting (using a boole object) from the turret an object built from two splines, simmetrized (left to right) and loft-nurbed together. The antennas and the gun are splines lathe-nurbed (the gun has the bore booled away, the radio antenna on the right side is by a symmetry object). The central "bulge" of the gun is made by 8 splines under a cyclic loft-nurb. Other elements are made from primitives, eventually turned into editable. Various use of instances, arrays and symmetry... etc., etc. ...
Of course the model is far from finished! (not to mention texturing...)
Thanks for Your time!
Have a nice day&night!!!

Hi. I can see some poly problems arising on the right hand side (as we look at it). Don't need cloud background either ;)

That's coming together pretty nice. I can't wait to see the finished model. Keep up the good work!
