I'm using flat object with texture map and transparency map always. However, Laser on this image is postwork by Photoshop.

You have incredible, creative skills!! Who wouldn't be inspired by your work. Amazing scene, such detail. My favorite detail is the dome atmosphere with the torn hole in the wall. The texture and color is unbelievable. The duplication of the machines is well, outstanding. Marvelous interpretation and re-creation!
