Description

Comet Schwassman-Wachmann 3 passing close by the planetary nebula called M57 in that Frenchman's list of things want aren't comets n'est pas! I said I would post a comet picture to appease the French person, Mssr Messier. Taken with an 8" Newtonian Reflector with an Orion Starshoot CCD camera mounted at prime focus. Exposure 30 seconds at F15. Shot in black and white because the camera system responds quicker and is more sensitive that way. This comet is MOVING fast. In 3 minutes it was so far past M57 I couldn't get both objects in the camera frame anymore.

Hey, is that the Ring-nebula? I miss te colors but the structures seem similar! Wonderful to see it in combination with this comet! Fantastic work, impressive results!
