Description

A pic that I took a couple of years ago at Chateau Chenonceau in the lower Loire Valley in France. The castle itself straddles the river Cher and was, during the second world war, the only way to get from one side of the river to the other. Hitler's forces had destroyed every bridge the crossed the river but had left the castle intact. During this time, the gallery (as the hallway that spans the river is called), was converted into a makeshift hospital. The castle itself is mesmerizing. Hope you like.
