As he stood looking back over the years of his life he shuddered briefly!! The last 2 years had been hell, the last 8 or 9 months had been the worst.. They torment his sleep, he recognized them. All of them, even her!! After all how could he ever forget her.. He had promised to be there for her forever. He had promised to protect her!! But he failed her, how many nights he spent on his knees before his God!! Praying for her protection, her guidance, for her peace in sleep.. Now that was all past, he had listened to those over him. Trying to do right, he had failed her and watched as his life slowly fell apart around him.. Now they hunt him, he has no defence against his enemies.. He put away his sword and all but cursed his God!! Some day's he wonder's if it will ever end.. But in his heart he know's it will only end when they've destroyed him!! They've come close many times.. He who stood for the light, fought against the darkness!! They've convinced him that he is evil, vile, and beyond hope of redemption!! But somewhere deep in his heart, his spirit still fights against them!! They won't succeed, he'll end up in hell, he know's that!! But it'll be worth every torment if looking across the great gulf he see's her with her Lord.. He had cared deeply for her of that there was no denying!! But he had never harmed her nor ever would have.. She meant too much to him.. She had been a light in a very dark world!! A good friend. Some day's he could still see her pale blue eyes.. In those day's he could almost convince himself that they where right!! After all he should be able to forget.. All they had ever done was talk after all!! For a brief moment he could feel the tears returning.. The pain almost surreal, sometime's so devastating it's almost physical! He shook his head.. How does one fight an enemy such as this.. There is nowhere to run!! He can't fight, he stands alone!! Or does he?? In his dream she stood for him.. What did it mean?? Nothing at all, just another nightmare.. One of many, he had to stand, continue to do right!! Believe in himself, no one else did.. At the end of it all, his life would prove them all wrong!! The good he did in the world would never bring restitution!! But it would bring peace and a sense of rightness in the moment!! That would have to be enough.. A brief moment of pain, his heart.. He grimaces, it doesn't matter, they're still out there!! The nightmare's will come again, I need to keep moveing.. There are wrong's that need righting!! Had been working on an image to go with the story but ran into difficulties and really wanted to get this up!! This is the result of a dream or nightmare, maybe a little of both and several image's posted here in the galleries and several song's that have been playing this morning.. I think that's why I don't listen to the radio anymore!! Mark
