Description

Another flower from the desert at White Sands National Monument. This one is a Centaury, Centaurium erythaea. I had never heard of it, but in searching for the Latin name I learned that it is claimed to be the remedy for people who find it difficult to say 'no' to other people. Seems a bit bizarre to me but lots of places are selling it for exactly that reason. I have a few more from the desert, the it will be back to Oregon pics again. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

Centaurium erythraea or Centaurium erythaea? Last one gives more hits in Google but that is no certainty, of course... Wonderful capture, love to see those flowers, they're very beautiful!

Yes, when I was young all the girls used to carry bouquets of the stuff. Life was tough back then, Dennis. Now, of course, I appreciate beauty for it's own sake, so I find this photo gorgeous!

Lovely pink blossoms. It is always wonderful to see how many things grow where we would never expect them to. This is very nice. HUGS!!!
