Amazing piece of art. I absolutely love these images with bright objects in the forground and complete darkness in the background. Do you mind sending me an e-mail and share as to how to take images like this? Studio lighting?

To answer fotogen's question, I use a Sigma ring-light and a 105 nikkor macro lens on a Nikon D70 camera. The iTTl exposure of the camera gives me the correct exposures. I try to keep a dark background behind the flower and use the paint bucket or paint brush filter in Photoshop elements 3 to darken if necessary. But the magic is primarily in the Ring light and camera combination that allows just enough light to expose the flower. The background immediately goes dark when there is a little empty space behind the plant
