Description
Hello all!
This is my first upload to Renderosity, but I've been lurking here for many years. I've been working with different 3D software for 8 years now, and I've recently bought ligtwave. This is my attempt to realistically model a subdivision Boston cocktail shaker that I want to use on a cocktail party invitation. It took me several hours to get the brushed aluminium look like I wanted. Please let me know if you have any suggestions to improve the texturing and lighting on this model.
Cheers,
Marc

Almost there. The wood texture loses it in the left foreground.Theres no depth in the grooves of the timber. Use a higher resolution texture coupled with the bump map as it would give the render much more impact. This close all the detail is critical. Dome part of the shaker looks plastic compared to rest of shaker. Rotating the HDRI map sometimes helps to get better highlights. Have you tried using the BRDF Shader? It helps when trying to achieve anisotropic effects. Great texturing, great lighting, great modelling. Its all in the details.
