Description
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

I just had to include that in there. This is an image that has been sitting on my computer waiting for me to finish it, for 364 days in fact. The Fell Beasts were taken in broad daylight on my camera as they sat perched up above the city streets where I live, back when the RotK World Premiere was screening here. The bg was added in Terragen, and everything postworked in Photoshop for hours and hours, taking out buildings, addin in bits of body, including finding some photos to add as textures to Terragen, as I still haven't gotten the hang of texturing in that medium and thought this looked more realistic, and meant less time taken to nut it all out.
Having just taken a LotR tour recently which visited, flew over or drove past exact locations where they filmed the movies, this image is rather fitting as a first upload for me in some time.
~|~ Any and all critigues on my work are most welcome ~|~

besides that the dragons look a little bit too much 2D, awesome work! :)

This is a really stunning piece Ava and I can see the hours of work you must have put into it! The only thing I could suggest, to make the dragons appear more 3Dish, is to wrap the light around the forms, as you have on the wing and back of the left one. Great work my friend and wonderful to see you posting again big hugs Thanks for creating and sharing more hugs :)

Excellent pieceHUGS The alternating shadows and light in the sky is a great 'ceiling' for this scene and I love how the trees turned out in the middleground. The fellbeasts were melded very well into the landscape - complete with shadows! Both of them look so at home it's as if they were plopped into Terragen. Awesome clean up job on them too; having worked on removing backgrounds from photoed objects myself, I know what a pain it is. But these guys came out just right:D
