Description

I took these recently in the Dallas area National Cemetary. I found the buckeye butty on the vault marker of a soldier. I thought maybe it was symbol of his spirit. it is is always with a heavy heart to visit National Cemetaries for me. to take in account so many women and men that put theirselves in harms way and never to hold their loved ones again. never to see their children become adults. Every soldier that dies in Iraq or Afganistan is another notch in the ego of our leader. yes go after the terrorists that created the 911 tragedy. the bombing of the USS Cole. Bombing of innocents, but why try to make democracy work in a region that does not want it, does not believe in it, against their beliefs that anyone can coexist and not be a member of their cult.obviously there is a majority that does not want it to be a reality. feel free to express your opinions, disgust, agreement, different views I appreciate the men and women that serve their country no matter where it is. I do not appreciate leaders just following a whim, bold face lying to further their beliefs and to enrich their pocket book

Wonderful tribute to your fallen soldiers! Switzerland is a luck country that we are not involved in such terrible wars! Excellent silent and sad looking atmosphere!

A splendid tribute to all loved ones lost through war, greed, dominionistic power-mongering, and hypocratic idealism. Thank you for serving the memories of those better than that, whom served with an ideal of true freedom, toward real peace on Earth. Instead, they have died serving the self-righteous, whom are raping this planet of all its available resources, in the name of commercial success, while acting as though they are entitled to any and all privilege, while all others have none that does not serve their own interests! Damn them! Better yet, imprisonment during and throughout their re-education! They are derelict in their duties and responsibilities to do right, by each and EVERY! Beautiful work Richard! Have a most peaceful day!

So true. I was just a child when my Dad took me to visit Arlington Cemetery. I have never felt anything like it since then. I visit cemeteries alot because I feel like the dead deserve to be remembered in some way....even if I never knew them. Sometimes I shed a tear for a two year old, or a young mother who passed before their time. Memorial Day is too often passed off as a day at the lake. Thanks.

The butterfly at close range is wonderful, patterned with nature's fractal math. All soldiers are victims of the powerful.

Richard, can't see how I missed this wonderful tribute on Memorial Day. Another beautiful collage that honors America's heroes is very fitting. The middle picture is a particularly poignant. My Dad is at rest in a National Cemetary. I'll make a short comment on Iraq. I am not a believer in fighting two front wars.
