Description

These images were captured during the same storm in which my image
"White Lightning" was captured. During this storm, I captured a total of 87 images. Out of that, only 12 captured lightning, and only 9 of those were usable, ("White Lightning" and the 8 shown in this image) All of the images were captured using a Nikon D50 outfit, with the mode dial set to "Programmed Auto," an f/stop setting of 4.5, and an exposure time of 32 seconds. The camera was mounted on a tripod, and no flash was used. The only post adjustments were slight brightness and contrast changes, less and more, respectively. Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoy, and that your day is most excellent!

12 out 0f 87 is excellent and you lived to tell us is impressive!I like trying to do the same thing but always afraid of getting closer than I want.when I was a kid my older brother was at the back door of my mother's house looking out. the electrical service came up to a fuse box right outside. anyway the lighting struck the originating pole across the street and traveled across to the fuse box and the metal screen wire on the house and almost ended my brother. he was shocked but survived. all are first class fotos Troy

WooHoo~ Great shots Troy! Capturing lighting is really a crap shoot, sometimes you get em, sometimes just black sky...this storm must have been a big one as the bolts are huge. I give you much credit for hanging out and getting these shots during this storm~ Kewl work! Aloha!

We had an amazing nasty (lost power for 7 hours!) storm last night. I didn't even THINK of taking pictures I was so tired!! But then I probably would have got yelled at by my husband for being stupid in the storm with a camera! LOL! VOTE (of course!)
