Description

Thanks for all nice comments in the last couple of days. To be honest with you: I expected the 'bad weather mill' to be the most popular posting of the last week, but it appears to be the 'tjasker'. I am surprised by that.. A few days ago I told you about the Weerribben, a once peat producing area in the Netherlands. The people that worked in the peat, had to stay there several months every year. The Weerribben than, I speak of 100 years ago and more, was an isolated area withhout any road.. the boat was all there was. Anyway, people had to live in the moors of the Weerribben and this is a little house they used for that. Don't expect there to be any kind of luxury .. The little houses are transformed to modern houses with all kinds of luxury. Some of them can be rented, but you have to be very quick to get any chance for that.. The photograph has been taken with a little help of the evening sun.

Yes where I was born peat was also used for fuel and these days too much is used for compost for our gardens.. Is the roof made of thatch or did they use paet for that also rather different than ours.. It is an enchanting image my friend
