Hi all, a lot of people have been asking about the trees that inspire my drawings. Here are two good examples of Fig Trees and how they grow, they have this amazing ability to sprout roots from anywhere and then if they come back onto the tree they join back into itself, also the branches take on shapes that make them strong enough to hold up the enormus weight of themselves or drop roots down for more support. Both these trees are growing in Sydney and the bottom one is in Paddington a very high density area the other is in the Botanical Gardens and is very large. Hope you find them interesting.

Two fine beasts, these. It's a real education seeing them, I don't recall seeing many trees with roots such as these before, at least not this huge. Thanks for sharing Graeme, they're impressive.
