Description

Abandoned buildings have always held a certain fascination for me. I imagine the history of them, wondering who lived in these now derelict places, who loved there. There were so many everyday actions that filled this place with life. Children playing. Breakfast cooking. A woman singing as she brushed out her hair. From the condition of this house, I would say that it hasn't been empty for more than five or so years. The roof seems to be in pretty good shape and nature has only begun to reclaim this space for its own. I suspect the building itself is probably almost a hundred years old. It's located in the extreme northern border of France, just south of the tiny Belgian village of Rongy.

Beautiful photograph. The memories of past times and the stories that these wonderful old homes could tell. Listen very carefully, and sometimes you can hear the laughter or the tears. HUGS!!

I have looked through all the beautiful images in your gallery, and I believe THIS is my favorite. It has the same effect on me as it does you - making me think of the history of the place. The lives that revolved around this place. And how it came to be empty. Beautiful and thought provoking image. Thanks for it...
