Description

When I woke up yesterday morming and this had not finished rendering, I was tempted to stop the render, but I thought maybe this could be really good. All day yesterday I keep think about stopping the render, but the fact that I had already more than 24 hours invested in it, I decided to ride it out. When I woke up today and it still had not finished, I realized this was a big waste of time. 41 hours and 15 minutes for a 4000x3000 render and Terragen can't even count that high, it said 17 hours and 15 minutes at the end of the render. Was it worth it. No, I never really got the shoreline to look the way I wanted it and this is not much better than the 1200x900 render that took a couple of hours. I ended up cropping off the bottom 200 pics. Why this took so long is beyond me. The water took most of that time and look at it, it's not that great!?! Thanks for looking. If you don't say anything, I understand. I just thought I'd give an example of a good render gone bad...

Looks good to me. Nice dramatic lighting. Water always takes an age to render, but that DOES seem an excessively long time. Glad you had the patience!

WoW!!! Looong time! It "looks like" you integrated the "Island looking terrain" in this render. Beautiful terrain in the background though!!! Excellent, Joe!!!

Beautiful atmo and light! If you don't want to do prints 1200x900 is better for your health! :)

The misty glow and colors are beautiful. The lighting creates an evocative mood. Very nice!

Joe this is stunning. Not only the colors and the reflection of the sun, but the mist, the water (absolutely gorgeous) and the surfacing. (Yes I figured out the strata thing) Amazing one!!!!! Truely a gorgeous desert view.
