Description

This stunning animal was photographed by myself at Washington State Zoo in 2005 during a visit to the city. It's enclosure is quite good (if a little small) and it is clearly well looked after. I am always in two minds about zoos, I understand their role in conservation and how they can (if they are well run)raise awareness about conservation issues, but I often see animals in the wild and think it is the best place for them...people should be kept in zoos to protect the world! definetly politicians starting with the US. astonishing capture of this beautiful animal. their muscles are so huge. the Dallas zoo has large areas for the tigers to roam and many trees for them too hide

Beautiful!! Certainly not your ordinary 'lap kitty.' How wonderful to enjoy this fantastic cat. Would be wonderful if all of God's creatures were free to wander and live in peace. HUGS!!!

I so agree with your statement, but the facts are that they will lead a longer life in the zoo and if can mate successfully that is the goal to repopulation... At least here in SA they have at least a 1km square area to "play" in.
