Good start. Fun to play with. keep going, there is a lot to learn,lots of little tricks.

Try reducing the sun reflection to a minimum...you'll get far more realistic results. Also, this was probably a Terragen-made terrain..you can find lots of better terrain generators like Worldmachine, or Geocontrol, which give you good results even with the unregistered versions.
