I'm a graphic designer from Finland who teaches using computers in designing, and whose favourite areas are vector graphics and typography and painting as well digitally as with traditional methods. - All said in one sentence...
I read a lot, I smoke a lot --- I'm not anymore young, beautiful and slim;-)BIOI graduated at Helsinki University some 20 years ago as M.A. - main subjects philosophy, aesthetics and Finnish language and Finnish literature. As a philosopher;-) I couldn't have a permanent job... I have been a teacher in many places; teaching both children and adults.
I am a self-made graphic designer and computer aided designing teacher. My very best interest lies - besides the pictures - on typography, in theory and in practise. I work as a free lancer.
I have the home page of my own - but unfortunately they are all in Finnish. But the adress is not a secret: www.valt.helsinki.fi/blogs/titta
All my studying materials are there - I teach quite a lot at Helsinki University.
Personal life: I live with my big black dog, Kirppu (in English "a flea") in Helsinki.

Wonderful painting. Draws my thoughts to many potential stories. The empty chair is mysterious and the mystery is heightened by the subdued lighting and shadows. Great concept and theme image. Excellent work!

...great mood and atmosphere here Titta ! --- kind of like a Raymond Chandler scene as painted by Edward Hopper . I've never read Chandler ( should ) - but I did see the movie version of 'The Long Goodbye' with Elliot Gould ( an odd offbeat film - but still entertaining ) -- love the colour, shading, composition and the woman's contemplative expression -( though I feel her features could be softened somewhat - or something ) - still - the overall effect of this piece is wonderful.

Thanks you all! Doug, I'd be happy if I ever could reach Edward Hopper's level! He's painted some marvellous bar scenes. :-)

Truth is subjective I guess... even "fact" can be open to interpretation! It's one of the sad aspects of religious dogma, that people of different faiths do battle over supremacy when all faiths are merely different ways of looking at the same thing... that which opens our minds by switching on the spiritual centres of the brain. Anyway, as for your image, I'm most drawn to the vibrancy of the colours of her hair and those of the wall panels. Lovely work again hugs :-)

I think my previous comment showed why I don't comment as often around here as I used to gah to the brain frazzle. I really love the quality of light in this image, and the feeling of waiting for the friend to return to fill their empty glass. Thank you as always for sharing all you do :) big hugs

Thanks, Jim & cassie too!!!!! --- One definition for the truth (or even fact!) is that it's well argued belief. let's just think about how it's gone quite a short time when the truth 8and fact) was that the Earth is flat, and the centre of the universe... Cassie, I'm so happy I have now two lovely comments from you here! quite special!!!! hugs :-)

I think you have enough ideas to do several works on this theme, Titta. Your soft paintwork goes so well with the late night mood after having a few drinks. The empty chair and waiting drink give such an air of expectation...
