My, What Big Antennae You Have! by TwoPynts
Open full image in new tabDescription
Keeping with my recent insect theme, I decided to post another of my garden denizens. I photographed this one last evening at dusk, sitting on my Angel Trumpet plant. Not as impressive as the previous dragonflies, but it has some neat antennae. That is one reason for the large image size as well, I wanted to show of more of the detail. Happy hump-day! ----- White-Tipped Black ~ Hodges #6616 Species: Melanchroia chephise This larvae of this moth is known as the Snowbush Spanworm and is of the inchworm family. It ranges from Florida to Texas and south to Paraguay. It prefers dry habitats and its larvae feed on plants in the spurge family. ----- Many thanks for your copacetic comments on my last upload, Garden Gargoyle.

Incredible to see those antennae used for smelling, able to detect only a few molecules of scent of the opposite part! I call that sensitivity! Gorgeous work, Kort!

Amazing, the antennae!! This has to be from the South, we can tell by the fringe on it'a wings. Maybe designed by Nashville, and a 'Dolly' costume castoff. LOL!!! HUGS!!
