....in the insect world
Mosquito Hawks coupled... Mosquito Hawks AKA Mosquito Eaters do not actually eat Mosquitos... lol... it's just nicknames and myths about these guys! The actual name of this insect is the Crane Fly.
Oh yeah! For those that like the scientific stuff
Crane Fly(Diptera:Tipulidae) only live a few days as adults
as larva they are plant eaters(Herbavours)eating decaying plant matter, tender roots and seedlings
they do not eat any insects at all!!!
It's interesting that 2 insect species such as the mosquito hawk(Crane Fly) and the dragon fly that seem so much alike are so very different even in the way they couple. Note also these guys have one set of wings unlike the dragon fly which has 2.
Also they are just really ugly!!....lol
