Description
Nebt-het is my favorite of the Egyptian pantheon. Why? It takes an especially bitter woman to do the things she did (You know, like pretending to be her sister so she can get some action with her husband). She was origionally a desert goddess, and was symbolically barren. That is also why she effectively raped her own brother, he, being the god of Life and Nature, could certainly counteract her infertility. He did, shortly before Sutekh hacked him to bits and Hathor stole his penis. No, really. Long story short, she got Osiris murdered. Such a lovely lady. And to think, she still got along with her sister after.
The irony, Nebt-het and Eset (thats Nephthys and Isis, btw) were twins. So, really, it should not have been that hard to convince Osirus that...well... maybe Egyptians just liked drunken rape...
Anyways, I always liked to imagine Nebt-het as the more somber of the two sister, and is fittingly the Goddess who presided over the dead and dying. She is also mother to Anubis, the Jackal headed god of Kemetian Taxedermy. You can call it mummification, I call it takedermy.
Anyway credit goes to Ravenheart ( a lovely Renderosity merchant) for the hair brushes and layers, Lori and Vali for the metal bikini, and Mistdragon for the cloth layers. You guys all rock so much. Dankesch
