Description

As a child it was always a treat to go to the store. Daddy would take us shopping and while Mama would buy groceries, daddy would sit and talk with the men. Memories warm the heart and bring a smile. May warm memories open your heart today and bring a smile to your heart. Prayers and HUGS!!!

Wow! That store sure was isolated wasnt it. It reminds me much of a store we had in our village when i grew up. An 80 year old woman was running it....and she was hardly ever there. But she had the doorbell connected to her house 100 yards away. So all you had to do was ring it...then be patient...and after a few minutes that old lady would come "running". She didnt appriciate windowshoppers that would call her out of her home and then not buy anything as you can imagine. Not much to buy there though since she only stocked up on groceries once a year or something. At least it seemed that way since she even had milk cartoons in the freezer. #:o/ Oh my...im raaaambling arent i? Excuse moi as the frogs would say. Beautiful shot...that was what i was gonna say, lol. Have a wonderful weekend Claudia. #:O)

I think your presentation is great. The small town I grew up in had one store for many years. We walked there and knew everyone in it back then. Great photo!

We used to shop in a country store when I was a child. It had the requisite "Pot Belly" stove. Where, as you mentioned, the men usually in their "Bib Overhauls" would poor themselves a cup of Joe or Mud, and a host of other colorful names, and talk about how the government needed to stop giving so much money away, and then they would talk about our area needed more. The women either trolled the shelves or milled around the counter conversing in their local dialect of gossip. We kids were told to go get a soda or maybe a candy bar and b e quite and not disturb the other customers. You see Claudia your picture did draw out memories, now that is what I call a excellent picture.
