"Berber" is derived from "Barbaroi", which the Greeks used to mean those who did not speak Greek, but "barbar". The word had no implications of cultural inferiority. The Persians, for example, were considered highly civilized, but were "barbaroi". Romans took the word and later applied it to the Circumcelliones, whom they called "Barbari", in North Africa. These were pretty clearly the Berbers, some of whom Juin led through the mountains behind the Germans at Monte Cassino. Berbers, by the way, are NOT Arabs. Monkey speak Greek, does he?
