Description

Trent & Mersey canal, Shardlow, Derby UK. 5D, Canon 100-400L @100mm F7.1, 1/1000s ISO 400 "Cow parsley is one of the most familiar wild plants of the British countryside. Throughout the month of May, most roadsides are lined with the white flowers, seemingly impervious to traffic pollution, salt-spray and regular mowing by the highway authorities. The plant has a number of local names; hedge parsley, wild chervil and Queen Anne

OK I will say it: WOW!! We have lots of cow parsley growing in Texas also but I have never seen such a concentrated grouping of it. I must admit it gives a new perspective to what many consider a weed, lol. Lovey place. Great shot. Interesting info. I am glad I clked on it.

Wow!That's Queen Anne's lace?...It looks so beautiful!I've never heard of it referred to as wild chervil or cow parsley.I only know of it as Daucus Carota...(wild carrot)...oh and the reason I heard for it being called 'Queen Anne's lace',having something to do with her being a virgin, bla bla bla...It's really true, you learn something new every day!...Anyway,gorgeous capture,Steve. What a beautiful place!!!One day I am sooooo going to Derbyshire!!!Got it all planned out and everything...LOL.Thanks for sharing and hope you have a fabulous week.-M :^)

I like the location chosen for this picture and the compo but I would prefer the flowers in the foreground to be focused. rgds
