Description
This is a courtyard at the Fragrant Mountain Hotel; The surface is composed completely of hand-laid river stones.
Fragrant Mountain is a lovely enclave of nature on the outskirts of Beijing, and it's visited by many of the locals on their days off.
The entire site was sacked and burned by French, British and American troops in the 19th century, destroying the unique and irreplaceable gardens and temples.
