WOW after 2 hours, gee the things I had to do to get thru that time!!!
Shame my poor hair... Tisk Tisk.
Oh well... Tx to the 5 comments I got yesterday and for the spare clicks... I'm sure it was due to the speed of everything.
Hope all have a lovely weekend. WooHoo public holiday tomorrow...
Hope I did well with the bright afternoon sun as back lighting - in terms of exposure. I did correct the WB with curves options. And I'm pretty confident with the focus and sharpness this time...

Great composition in this portrait Vera! You certainly seem to have come away from that zoo with some amazing material... Do you ever use the shadow/highlight option - this a good way to experiment in getting additional light in shadowed areas etc...that way you don't have to worry SO much about perfectly lit scenes. Fantastic capture anyway! Have a great day +++

Wonderful capture of this rare beast. I like the focus on the business end of the rhino. Hate to get in the way of that horn.

Hey, that's me! I am the rhino! I have a really big horn, with alot of body mass, to help me smash through any and all obstacles I encounter in life, and a very tough hide, to keep me from getting hurt! LOL. Actually, it's just a metaphor I've used throughout the years, to keep my fears from hindering success. Excellent capture Vera! I hope your day is absolutely fantastic! [Huge hug]

hehe, he looks like he's about to charge. I love the composition, and again, you've got an excellent eye for light.

Great shot Vera, and very illustrative as to why it is called a white rhino, i.e. the shape of the mouth.

I despise the lot of them! Living in a safe city in Western Europe, I get bugged only by tiny little flies (which I never kill, but chase out the open window) and spiders (which I pick up on a piece of paper and deposit on my doorstep). We don't want vermin here. Same thing with your predators. I don't eat kangaroo meat, nor ostriches from South Africa. Still, these beasts roam around. I'd rather they didn't. I'm sure you and just about anybody will hate me for this, but I have to say it: some species are better done without. On the other hand, this is a wonderful photograph. Congrats! You have captured this horrible beast in a magnificent way. Excellent photography!

the white rhino got its name from a mispronunciation of 'wide' for its wide mouth. this is a fine spicimen.
