Description

Hello All ! Took this one a few nights ago out walking with my girls after dinner at lake Balboa. A homeless man and his wife were waiting for dinner. That of what he caught that day. He brought up the basket from the water and there were lots of small fish flopping everywhich way in it. He told me he also auto details cars and I told him not now, sorry I just bought a new car that is clean. I took this shot of him and thanked him after by putting a few dollers under his wifes wheelchair. The sun was setting quickly and I snapped this - as he turned around the sun came thru his arm holding the basket of his dinner. I think the fish were something called talapia. they sure were jumping here ..!! The fishermans wife was sitting there eyeing the basket with a hungry glare and she told me that she and him were once high school sweethearts and re met again by chance on a bus a few years back and havn't parted since. And now live together in thier car..., And eat alot of Fish! Thank you for all your time and comments ! Love to you all, ((( Big hugs ! ))) ♥ ~ Kimmers ! :O)

Hi Kim! I' m so glad that I could see this awesome shot, the lighting is fabulous, you really captured the essence of the moment! The story was a very human one, and at least a fish diet is good for you! Sorry I have not been at the site for quite a while, I have not been able to access it in months! It has been hit and miss latley! Hope everything is going good in your world, and take care! 8-)

Nice POV on this Kimmers...seems so serene this time of day....sad to hear about there plight...seems like there is a lot of that going on around these days. But he is trying to at least help himself without begging on corners. Makes this image even more heart warming...Great shot~ Aloha!

This is an excellent shot. It is an absolutly beautiful composition and lighting. This is what I call a WOW factor image. On the story behind it, is is really sad that some people live that way and can not afford things that most of us take for granted. Thanks for sharing and as always, great work.

Awesome capture! I could see this on the cover of National Geographic. I love the man's appearance, almost like a silouette against the sunlight. Very special image. Kimarie, your inclusion of their story is most touching and thought provoking. It breaks my heart in some ways, and in others strengthens my faith and hope. Thank you for sharing both. Top marks my dear!
