Description

On Cherryh IV, the second, smaller continent has a large weathered mass of rock that is nearly 800 miles long and 300 to 400 miles wide. It stretches across the heart of that continent in a shallow "C" shape. It would be amiss to say that there is only cracked and tortured rock where nothing can grow. There are small bits of scrub and grasses, moss and lichens, but never enough to sustain human or beast. The hills rise from a quarter of a mile to a half mile in elevation. No land vehicle has ever crossed it, nor has it been crossed on foot. This all-woman expedition is reached the edge of the "Ocean of Rock" or the "Barrens," as the locals refer to the area. They are on the edge of the vegetation line--sparse as it already has become. Ahead, there is only rock. No wonder they have stopped to contemplate the enormity of the task they have set for themselves. Credits: Sky: created by me in Bryce 5.5. Terrain: Actually one of my Martian terrains retextured in one of Jonathan Allen's rock textures. Vegetation: Some grasses by Traveler, the rest by Modualz and Judith Ward with some retexturing of some parts of them by me. Survival vehicle: modeled and textured by kalebdaark. Figures: Miki, Aiko3 realistic, and looma. Had this all done and managed to crash it when trying to save it and lost the whole thing, so I had to start all over again. Thanks for dropping by and taking a gander. Comments both positive and negative are appreciated. Jeremy

Sometimes having to start all over again can be the best thing. I know how it feels (although I've never lost an entire scene I was working on). Bravo to you for starting from scratch again. Nice job!
