I was born in Zimbabwe on 03/06/88. My family, consisting of parents, older brother and sister, migrated to South Africa when I was six months old. We moved back to Zimbabwe six years later, to help my grandparents on their farm - a career change for my father.
After a measly eighteen months we upped sticks and went farming on our own. This led us to Kwekwe, in the heart of Zimbabwe, to farm tobacco! Borrowdale farm which is part of the "Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy" is where we settled . This was the most incredible experience, living with such an abundance of wild life ........... of which we became a part of during the school holidays! Due to the "land redistribution policy" we had no option but to move on.
10th November, 2001 saw us arrive in New Zealand with our former lives packed into a suitcase each, ready to start our new lives. Our first three years were spent on the South Island and I nearly froze!!!!!!! A great employment opportunity for my father had us move up to the North Island. I now live on a farm just outside Matamata aka "Hobbiton" (defrosting).
Yep that should sum it up ha!

I know the feeling buddy. When i cant photograph something...i get miserable. And i get stressed for some stupid reason. But isnt it great that drops are always available then? I always shoot drops when im lacking other subjects. Speaking of drops. This ones beautiful. Perfect timing. Ive never seen one half buried before without any ripples or anything. Impressive indeed. Oh...and another thing. I think im gonna start saving my drops no bigger than 700 pixels. Because the compression in my browser really jags them up. Other photos get away with the compression just fine it seems....but if you take a drop....eeew...it really screws it up. Just take a look at my latest drop "i"...that one looks absolutely AWFUL compressed. You have to click it to see what it should look like. And thats what im suggesting all you who view this photo after me do as well. Now i better stop bla bla-ing. Have a great one Kai. #:O)

It may not splash, but it sure is different. I love the way the light reflects at the bottom of the drop. Now, enough of the negativity mmm? At least you still have a cam! Mine's still in for repairs pout Have a great Monday!

I remember when Onslow put up a splash shot then several others followed...Andreas has several good ones and now this..no splash! Neat take on it all. I am certain this was planned this way. LOL. Great shot.

OMG!!! this is so damn amazing friend! It is a real unique piece here and it could bring you a lot of money ;) Love the captured moment.. You got that little droppy in a wonderful pose :P I am serious, don't laugh! Never saw one like this in my whole life.. The only thing i would suggest.. I really don't know if you can make another one but vertical. And to make it even more special, flip it! (UPSIDE DOWN) ;) And manipulate it into blue Aqua. Other then that! My Jaws are still wide open from this post.. and i can see that you jumping forward so fast and makes me smile and happy. Keep the DROPLETS up. They are always a winners. Have a lovely day.. And yes i got your messages my real friend. and it is really appreciated tho.. You are the best.. Tell me.. Do you still need that thing! Here is 5/5 for you and your post today.

This is certainly different than your 'default' splash image. I really like the light play at the bottom of the drop.
