Description
This little sweetie was a second away from being chomped by my female cat, Baby Girl. Danielle rescued it, bless her big heart and of course, there I was, no camera - so I ran back up to the house to get it. Baby Girl seemed to have forgotten all about this baby bird but when Dani opened her hand, it started to fly away and ALMOST reached the bush where his Mom was frantically chirping away, but instead landed on the ground. That caught Baby Girls eye. Dani grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and threw her as far away from the bird as possible. I'm frantic, Momma bird was hysterical. I grabbed the cat, trying hard not to get clawed by her razor-sharp claws. I got her in the house and then ran back to Dani. I got some nice shots; then, the baby flew away again ... still unable to reach that bush .. but, I told Dani we needed to go inside; calm that poor Mom and baby and let nature take care of the rest.
So we went inside and had lunch; the cats had their can of 9-Lives.
... and I'm finding myself watching the 'characters left' below this; and looks like now I have 2994 left - but I will cut it short lol

Sweet image. I raised a Robin many years ago, and three Blue Jays, and it was a very difficult undertaking. Hope Mama managed to secure safety for this one.

sounds like some doves that had a nest in my gutter. the second time I took pictures one jumped out being afraid of the camera. I had to pick it up and return it to the nest. 2 days later both babies flew away. excellent spur of the moment capture

Youre like a regular Steve Irwin....but a woman....and a sane one....theres something really wrong with Steve Irwin....bla bla. Ooooh, what do you mean: characters left??????????? ARE YOU SAYING THAT ONES RAMBLES HAS BEEN LIMITED???? HUH HUH???? IT CANNOT BEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! AAAAAAAAARRRRGHHHH!!!!!! #:o( But...but...sigh. Fine...i guess ill adapt to that as well.
