Description

Wanted to try what is almost emblematic among cover images for fantasy magazines - and to see how many figures the render could handle. Mainly filters and layer blends for the postwork. Thanks for viewing.

Great painterly feel to this illustration. Definately has that Heavy Metal look, could use some blood splatters to give the event more of a 'life or death' tension.

Yes, Mike, foreshame! Nudity: Evil! Death and Mutilation: Not even worth mentioning. Sheesh! Nice work on posing the bad guys and interesting patina on them too, like old copper statues come to life and then dead again. Helmet-girl is a little too distracted to be long for this world. Heavy Stone, lol, probably a more appropriate name. ; ) Great work.

No, no--Screaming Stone (Metal Hurlant), much earlier, of which HM was a (licensed and deliberate) American ripoff, and which rip was never quite as wild or as good as the original. It was HM really "discovered" Corben, for example, long before any greater audience in les Etats Unis knew him from rat butt. Old issues still worth reading if you can get your hands on them....Genius in France, Genius in France, hehe.(nice job, with a smile)
