Description

got about 3 i'd like to share.... one at a time. I reduced the image in size using Photoshop. All pictures taken with:Sony DSC-P200 . For lightning I use "fireworks" setting. Normally this info is available with the image, but passing through Photoshop the information gets lost. I resized it due to fact it was taken at 2592 X 1944 pixels. that goes for all my pictures.

Amazing. We had some nice thunderstorms here, but I was so frustrated from my last effort at photographing lighting that I didn't even try. "Fireworks" huh? I tried that but the camera shakes. There's no delay, it takes the shot as soon as I push the button. I end up with a blur. It won't let me use the timer on fireworks setting either. Beautiful shot though... I'm jealous. If I were a lesser man, I'd call you foul names.

Yeah, i get jealous of some images too. no idea why it wouldn't let you use timer, it works on mine but I don't use it. I usually take pics in the car, so I place the camera flat on the window trim. I also set the EV to +2, it takes the picture longer thus more chance to capture the lightning. If that helps. And another thing.. count seconds between flashes to estimate when it will do it again. =oP take care and thanks for checkin it out and comment.

WOW this is really a good shot, and you were very patient judging by the green light streeks at the bottom...

ha ha, yeah . I was there for 2 hours btw. 3am to 5am, approx. Also, couldn't do nothing about that road sign. It was the only place I could park without beeing on the road. And this patience thing, yeah, it takes about 8 sec to take a shot, that's why the streaks and some blurryness. To guess, I'd say I took about 120 pictures, and only got about 8 keepers. Again, thank you for comments.

Great photo. Lightning can be so exciting. We have a lot of them here in N.C. (almost daily) but doubt that I'll ever catch a photo of one. HUGS!!!!
