A Tiger for Mea (Photoshop) www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php
ÂÂ
I have been drawing since I was 11, some 33 years ago.
My 6th grade teacher, Mr. Knoss, was a great artist and I greatly admired his illustrations. He encouraged me to pursue my artistic interests at a crucial time in my development.
My High School art teacher "Vern", was also a great influence. He always challenged me to try different things.
I was lucky that my parents were very supportive of my interest in art. I studied at The Minneapolis College of Art and Design (1986-1990). Where I was humbled by many great artists that were far more talented than I. There it was that I rounded out my fine art skills, and then chose to major in Media Arts. Studied film, video and sound. Learned all the skills needed to shoot, direct, edit those mediums.
While pursuing a Media Arts major, I discovered computer graphics, still in it's infancy. This is where I came to an Epiphany. Here was a new medium, that incorporated everything I had previously learned into one new medium. Not only that, but it had new dimensions, interactivity, feedback, randomness, AI. I was hooked.
The next 17 years I learned and grew with the industry. Learning everything from how to create and manipulate digital imagery and create animations, to interface design and interactive authoring. My day job is an Information Architect, a fancy term for software interface design.
A few years back, my wife and I hit on some difficult times (As many people do) and it was during a very dark time in our lives that I discovered what became Renderosity, Initially I posted work, merely as a way to get myself back into the discipline of making new art.
I was delighted to find a world-wide community of talented artists, exchanging ideas and art!! I was thrilled! I have learned so much from you, and your art has brightened up my world. I am lucky to have made some great friends here, and I aim to do tributes to all of you!

I use this gallery as an online journal, and put all of my "Brain-droppings" here, over 400 images.

VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! Hotchie-Totchie-Twenty material for sure!!! F ='D (Also, don't forget when uploading to choose the "Full-size" option under, "How the image should be initially displayed (unless overridden by the viewer):" for those viewers who may not know about this other option.)

Yes oh great Kort-san! Your wisdom once again shines like a star above the dung heap!!! DID YOU CATCH THAT FOLKS? As our wise photographic-sage said, as you UPLOAD images, be sure to check the "FULL-SIZE" option!!! Destiny, destiny, no escaping that's for me!!!

What?! We have to READ THIS STUFF?!!! hehe! Thanks Eric & Kort! Perhaps I'll actually look at the forms I'm filling out . . . or not.
Digimon
Hey, thanks Dennis! That is enlighting, and covers most of the things we have been wondering about! This may turn out to be a much better site. It's great to see that they are making a genuine effort to give us more options.
Hopalong
Gotdang, robotalk with an avatar! I clicked on it three or four times, and it didn't change size, Eric von O. How did the powers that be miss the boat on that one--isn't it time for a FULL-SIZED AVATAR option in Avatar galleries like Digimon's here! Also why must thumbs be limited to a couple of hundred pixels when they could be part of the infinitely resizeable option between thumb and full-sized? Imagine the fun playing with yourself in Artist X's gallery when such an option is in effect, ESPECIALLY WITH ANIMATIONS. You could open three or four different-sized animations and have them play a little boogy with their different rhythms. That's right, jocko, IMAGINE IT:--BAP BAP BAP TOOT DA TOOT DINK-A-DONG. There is also this oversight in statistics--they tell you how many VIEWS TODAY and how many FULL-SIZED VIEWS but they neglect the key item: how many FULL-SIZE VIEWS TODAY! Just how are we supposed to keep these figures straight--like one got 47 views on image X and two full-size views but the site won't let one SUBTRACT with any peace of mind because the full-size views could be from the time of the post, which would not be TODAY! Let us all band together in brotherhood and sisterhood and DEMAND ANSWERS to these NAGGING QUESTIONS--GIVE ART A CHANCE, ALL WE ARE ASKING IS GIVE ART A CHANCE.....

very handy! I'm still getting used to the whole enchilada, so it's nice to find some of the little bits of salsa and cilantro in the mix.

man this is deep thinking here. How these people think up these things with the numbers and all??? guess I have to sing that song of hopalong --BAP BAP BAP TOOT DA TOOT DINK-A-DONG??? Time to go to bed now so I can think in my sleep. Hope the anwer be there when I wake up so I can make a image of these deep thoughts. Got to get the hopalong dog off that bone man too lol[dogs love bones you know]. robotalk make me sweat just looking at his avatar. And about chao lol there a lot of that going on too . Just look around I saw there was no photo forum for a few days lol
ShadowWind
Good information. You would think that they would have one central options page for everything, rather than one for the gallery and another for the forums, etc. Makes it kinda messy. Thanks for the head's up on the new options...
gabrima
thank you very much for this useful hint!
