Description
When I came back to Uchropia, seven years after the Big Disaster, I saw a very different city from the one I remembered.
It's something about remembering places I was when I was a child, and seeing that these places are lost or have changed in a way they don't exist anymore (or maybe it is the child?)
How was the image made:
I used a new feature included in the recent versions of Blender for adding a little depth-of-field blurd and mist to the background.
Image made with the version of Blender included in the Elephants Dream DVD, using nodes for compositing (dof-blur and mist)

Awesome background and nice texture work. I also like the details in the modeling and the water surface. Good all around image.

What a desolate landscape... It looks a bit like slums. But the scenery is really catastrophic... Maybe a city being re-born on ruins? You could create a whole story starting from it. That apocalyptic sky is perfect, though the ground tex seems a bit too low-poly or so:(

When I was a child, I lived in Uchropia. I can not say that my childness was bad, but those were dark times, dark people. And, as a schoolteacher told my parents: "This child's problem is that he understands more than he should at his age". Even so, those people, those place, were my life, a part of me. Something happened, maybe I grew old, and I went out of Uchropia. I forgot all about that time, I lost all memories, I lost that part of my life, that part of me. And now I have these pieces of emptiness inside, and I try to catch them, but I can't. Sometimes at night I seem to be near to catch them, but then a sudden dizzinness wakes me up with a start. Maybe some day I will be able to come back to Uchropia, but I'm affraid of what I'm going to see...
