Description
Ok so this took me quite a while, not because it was comlicated but because it's made of so many different pieces (more than you can actually see in it), and matching the colours properly was a real challenge :D
It started out as something completely different, (maybe I'll upload the original concept drawing in pencil when it's finished) but it developed into an image haunting me for quite a long while: a young lady is found on the shores of a far-off, lighthouse island, after her ship had been destroyed in a storm. She cannot remember who she is or anything from her past, so in order to escape the island she starts faking memories, and writes a diary that she calls The Book of False Memories. The weird thing is that the things she writes have actually happened, and are not fake at all, as she first believed.
The book is very deep, and very intricate... it surprises you to the end... it's called Pharos, by Alice Thompson. It made a very strong impression on me years ago when I read it. This is my representation of the atmosphere in the book. She always tries to escape, to run away, but the keeper of the lighthouse does not want to let her go and she never gets too far from the island...

Cool image - and like the concept behind it as well. Aren't all memories, at least in some ways false. Changing over time and distance. A dvd, you may enjoy that is also on the theme, is Robin William's FINAL CUT
