I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

WOW. This is an amazing image, Bob on every level. Jay's clouds are wonderful- excellent pw and integration..and the terrain is outstanding, as is the beautiful surface- love the colors and textures. Lighting is perfect, and the view is breathtaking. Great teamwork! Adding the dirt road was a great idea, and it looks like it belongs there. Thanks for the inspiration..and the mini-tut!

You want critical? Ok Here goes. Hum, Um, The road, not that's ok. I know the sky is, no thats perfect. I got it, the terrain is, no thats photo real also. The colors are, no thats perfect also.. Gee I can't find anything to be critical over.. The best I can do for criticism is to say that this picture is all wrong for Mars.. :O)
