Nice view of the U.S. M1 90mm Anti-aircraft Gun. My Dad worked with these and said that they were also used as standard artillery in Normandy.

As usual a very well colored picture. It's interesting to view all these nice small details. ;)

I always have the willies when around friendly AAA with the blue on blue errors and all. WW-II is something always out of reach to me. My uncles and father only recently have related their experiences. Also the experience of England and the Low Countires and France in 1939/40 is just outside even their experience. In Viet Nam the rule was for aircraft not to duel with guns on the ground, though Iron Hand was targetted on anything with a radar pointed skyward. Napoleonic marching with brass buttons across open fields toward artillery manifested itself in bombers that flew on straight up high disregarding puffs of "flak." This image recalls the one with Jane Fonda in Hanoi. Flyers are in the minoity and could not win a vote on popularity of air defense. The burgers of towns lionize the hardy gunners.
