Description
There is question that is bothering me.
Premise:
The reality that we visually perceive contains a background trouble. Every solid surface perceived with the eyes is not perfect.
With a good rendering and a suitable texture today we can reproduce indistinguishable objects from the reality.
But the living beings?
In the Gallery of Renderosity devoted to the Portraits, both for Poser and for DAZ3d, we can see really real images, which justly consider this trouble but... but they always contain an element that outdistances her in abysmal way from the perception of a true epidermis, of true eyes, of true hair!
What does he see our eye? What does it recognize our mind?
The light? I don't know it.
I introduce you Edith... and two timid experiments to try to reproduce how much I have wanted to say.
(Unfortunately I don't know how to speak well the English, I am using a software of translation) Sigh !

Well, not sure how you want the comment! If I were to pick one that my eye thinks it likes, I'd pick number 2. The lighting is a bit darker, but it gives depth to her face.

If you are asking which version looks more "real", I'd have to say the second, darker version. That one seems to have more texture.

Lighting is most important to accurately portray "Realness" In your second image you have (for me) achieved this. Well done Matty, may you long continue in your quest for realality :)
