Description

Kodak Dig & GIMP (scaling & sig & post work) I think I'm going to write like Zacko for this one.. This image isn't the greatest but I think it really makes a "milestone" for me. I love photography. Really do.. Always have. But I never picked up a camera for a a fear of failing. Failing that my pictures wouldn't look good. Fear that people would be watching me take these pictures and I don't want the attention. Really.. just lots and lots of fear. Since October last year my life has been interesting with a relationship that I ended up ending... and it was messy. I really started to pity myself and in an attempt to change that I figured I should use the digital camera that I bought in the July. So I did. All the pictures as you can tell from my gallery are landscape shots... because a fear of shooting a horrible picture of people or anything else really.. and really how can you go wrong with landscape. So I was walking along taking photos of landscape and starting taking pictures at this fence and there was this guy, I have forgotten his name so he is now, Bull Dog, and he was eating dinner and watching the sun go down. So here I am, blocking his view so I can take pictures. I end up talking with him and get the nerve to ask if I can take some shots with him in it. He says yes, I start shooting.. and he's still eating.. and here I am asking him to move from bench to bench.. and taking more shots.. Poor guy..and sadly, this seems to be the best shot! Thanks Bull Dog for being so awesome and willing! Ok done talking! Comments and jazz welcome! Nicole

I loved your write up ... i enjoyed reading it so much.. i have never been worried about taking peoples pictures most times it flatters them to be captured i find .. the more you do it the braver you will be!!... then it will come natural..( good to be sensitive to thier own personal needs though i feel ... i am proud of you for reaching beyond your normal comfortzone the result is an excellent image... bravo!!....

Yeah, I'm always thinking that people don't like to be photographed, but in fact it's me who doesn't like to be photographed. Last week I made a little trip with my dad, and I had the camera ready to take nature and scenic shots. Then we came by a huge market with thousands of people... Can you guess what I did? Yes, I hid my camera in the bag. My dad was always pushing me: why don't you take pictures of all these people here? But I just didn't do it, the cam stayed in the bag... Recognize that? Now I'm rambling too ;o)) Your Bull Dog shot is sure mighty pretty!
