yet another day out hiking. i've always found the thorns of the locust tree both beautiful and intimidating.

That's amazing! I admit, I have never seen these thorns... at least not close up enough to recognize them. I echo your sentiment, these are beautiful... and threatening, to say the least. Thank you for sharing! I'm also delighted with the size of this photo.:D Easy to take in all the details!

those are some wicked thorns. I seen a tree recently with some huge thorns, maybe the same type.

Thanks for the image of these familiar thorns. It has been a while but I remember them...very tough and sharp and large.
