Description
Another capture between 12/8/05 and 12/19/05, when mother nature put on a wild and weird display of cloud formations rarely seen over Southern California. She really went bizarre with her brush on this scene. I'm not a meteorologist but my research indicates that the high level, thin wispy clouds are of the cirrus variety at 20,000 ft. The black, puffy lower level clouds could be nimbostratus at around 6500 ft. Looks like some cirrocumulus and cumulonimbus clouds are mixed in there also. Surprisingly, no rain resulted from all this.
From what I could determine, these were all natural clouds; no man-made contrails or vapor trails involved.
Can Pretoria match this?

Awesome sky and shot! Colours are fantastic, looks like an abstract painting! Marvelous work here. Never seen a sky quite like it... Love it :-) Thank you for showing me.
