First off many many thanks for taking the time to comment on 123, I really appreciate the varying responses and your insites, looks like it might be a compromise of 1 and 2 with 3 on the sideline?
This was my third Vue competition 2006 entry, that I also stopped to carry on with Barbarian, I'm not going to finish this at all, but just thought you'd like to see some of the 48 different variations including some with poor choice of character and clothing and lighting LoL. It shows how my mind works and what affects my choices besides your comments.
Ranger uniform by Billy-t altered textures myself, the excellent free gun by Nobuhide Takagi and Dayglos m4a1r3 from here at the mkt place.

Variations are an awesome bonus in CG art. just can't do it with traditional airbrushing. Well, ya can if you have weeks to spend on one project. I am sure your render time is up there tho... Good stuff! I like Version 2, I can see more of the detail of the soldier. I like detail.

Thanks for sharing this Chris. It's a pity you're not going to continue with this composition...the image at the very top and centre is stunning. I had to do a double-take on this one...thought it was a photo. I've never used Vue and you've given us a great insight into the various textures and lighting that can be used.

Nice series. Kind of Andy Warhol-like. Love that action pose. Second frame is kind of creepy, because it looks like he's stalking through someone's backyard. Very realistic.
