Description

Another design of mine. You'll note the round rings on the top that match the ones on the Gator. That's because the Gator and the Remora (along with one other craft) make up a 3 part rescue system for underwater rescues. I'm a bit of a fan of the old Gerry Anderson Program called "Thunderbirds" that came out in the 1960's. One day on a forum the thought was tossed out that one of the systems used (Thunderbird 4) was insufficent. So I and a guy by the name of Mogera (who later on dropped out of the project) devloped a 3 part aquatic rescue system. Imagine this scenaio. There is a boat that has sunk and you have people trapped underwater. A high speed carrier (The thundershark) arrives carrying the Gator and the Remora with it. The remora submerges and a universal airlock is deployed and people enter a pressurised chamber. The Remora surfaces and the Thundershark then hoists the chamber containing the victims out of the Remora and loads it onto the Gator. The Gator then trundles off to to nearby hospital and drops off the canister (which is still pressurised) and returns to pick up another load from the Remora that has since then submerged with another container and has picked up more victims. Repeat as neccessary until everyone is rescued. The motive power for the sub are those gun turret like things that you see on the pylons. They are actually water pumps with fully swivalable nozzles. As a result of sucking in water and sending it out of the nozzles, the sub can literally move in any direction. It can even swim sideways!! This paticular model of still needs some work (Notably the pylon pivots and details on the water jet thrusters) but otherwise it's mostly done. Then again I am aways thinking to myself "Hmmm, what if I add this?" or "I think I just figured out to improve that." etc. he hard part is knowing when to stop or you'll neer finish. hehe anyhoo hope you enjoy and as always commentary is welcome.
