Description

Nikon D50, 70 mm 1/500 sec f10 Taken from a construction site in the aptly named Shangrila Subdivision in Anchroage AK. A Washington State Girl views Mount Susitna (The Sleeping Lady) rising in the distance behind the suburbs of Anchorage. I almost threw away this image; as I was sent to take pictures of on-going construction of a "flying house" we were working on, I just snapped the image quickly and didn't really set the exposure so well due to the clouds. I did manage to catch the girl with some back-light from the ocean (creating a halo effect) and a flash to bring counter the strong back-lighting. I also felt conflicted about having to force the kids to drive away (who were drinking), and potentially causing them to drive while intoxicated... a big problem up here. I should have just played the *sshole and called the cops.
